Europe: Part 5

Next stop....PARIS!!! From Switzerland, it took pretty much all day to get there, so we arrived at our hotel at night. We went to a dinner with our tour group at a fine French restaurant. As you can see from the pictures below, I was quite brave and sampled the menu! Then, our tour guide took us on a bus ride through the city, including a stop at the Eiffel Tower! We got to see it all lit up! It really was amazing! The next day, we went on another city tour on our bus and then went on the Eiffel Tower. We only went to the second floor of it, but it still was unbelievable that I was on it! After the tour ended, we had the rest of the afternoon and evening to ourselves, so we ventured out and visited a few places, like Notre Dame, Louvre Museum (where the Mona Lisa is!), and went to the top of the Arche de Triumphe! We wanted to go to the Palace of Versailles, but didn't have time, because we were only there 1 full day. If I got the chance, I think that is why I would go back to Paris, just to see the Palace! Here are some views:

Europe: Part 4

Okay, back again! Continuing on...our next stop was Lucerne, Switzerland. One of my favorite places in Europe because it was soooo beautiful! We first stopped near Lake Lugano and had lunch. Then we rode our bus through to Lucerne, where we stayed over night. The night we got in Lucerne, we saw a monument that was a lion carved into the side of a mountain...very interesting! Then we got oriented to the city, including all the good shops to buy watches, and the famous "wooden bridge" that was across the water in town. The next morning we went up to the top of Mt. Pilatus! We road a really neat train and had gorgeous views of Lucerne and the Swiss Alps! It was literally like being on top of the world! After that, we shopped the rest of the day in the cute city! I bought a watch and some swiss chocolate, of course! I would LOVE to go back there someday! Here are the wonderful views we saw:
